PTA Meeting - Tuesday September 15, 2015

Dear Parents:
Our first PTA meeting is Tuesday, September 15 in the Bear cafeteria. The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 and will last about 30 minutes. Your time is important, so we will be brief and organized. I encourage you to attend this meeting!

Our agenda includes approving the PTA budget for the school year and important information about:

-- The Reflections art contest - Come hear how your child can win cash prizes at the school level!
-- Spirit Nights
-- Signing up for Fall Festival committees
-- Signing up for dinner at Math Night
-- Plans for our Outdoor Classroom
-- New ways to earn Free Money for Bear - This is a great time to pick up a new Publix key tag.

We will give updates about the PTA membership drive, the discount card fundraiser and Bear Wear.

All remaining consignment sale items will be sold for $1!

Classes currently not at 100% PTA membership: Francis, Gulsby, Norred, Mr. Brown, Forster.

Future PTA meeting dates are Nov 17, Jan 19, Mar 15 and May 17.

Common Core Standards Discussion

There will be a panel discussion on the Common Core State Standards. The event will feature state Superintendent Bice and others. Some of the panelist support the standards, others do not. We hope there will be an audience that is representative of people who are concerned about Alabama’s College and Career Ready Standards.The event is free, but you have to register and print your ticket. You simply enter your first and last name and your email address.
